Another Classic magical effect, that still amuses and amazes audiences today! Gene Anderson is the single most influential performer that has perpetuated this miracle. A magical mystery that plays well in a stand-up or stage environment, even up close. You will enjoy watching his performance, as well as his explanation and you will do well to add his "signature effect" to your own performance repertoire.
Gene knows how to amuse an audience, from flopping intricate paper hats onto his head to shredding and miraculously restoring a torn newspaper. He knows how to keep his audience smiling. He is known throughout the world as the recognized master of newspaper magic. As Jay Marshall so often said: " Gene Anderson wrote the book on newspaper magic!" This teach-in DVD is the fourth of the "teach-in" series spotlighting another magical classic and giving an in-depth view of this popular effect. How to Download Click the box below :

Impossible to improve? Here's the 2.0 version of Anders Modens ingenious Healed and Sealed Soda, the effect originally performed by David Blaine on "Vertigo".
Anders Moden shares his thoughts on the methods, the handlings and the presentations of his masterpiece. He will also guide you through various additional techniques that he has kept to himself. Until now.
Let's re-cap the effect:
Pour the last drops out of an empty a soda can.
Crush it in front of the spectators - and show it around.
Command the can to heal itself the spectator will see and hear this happen.
Wave your hand over the opening and the hole will seal itself!
Now the can to magically fills up.
Open the can with a pfzzt!
Pour the soda in a glass.
Hand everything out to the audience.
Anders Moden will take you through every step of the trick in detail. He will also show you:

Effect: This is a very useful sleight. It is to have a card selected, placed in the middle of the deck, and then the rest of the cards get dribbled on top. But you still have total control over the card.
Performance: You start off by riffling down with your thumb, and when the spectator says stop, it looks like you lift off the top half of the deck, but what you really do, is lift off one card and immediatly get your thumb on top of the deck. So now your left with one card in your hand and the rest of the deck. You have them place their card back on top, then as you are coming over take about half the deck and dribble it on top. This was done as a convincer so that it looks like you are putting back back the top half of the deck. But it reality you have their card second from the top, and from then you can do whatever else you want with the card.
I like the moves! It is hard to see everything they're doing in just the 2 angles they show. I'd prefer if there was some verbal instruction too, on the werm especially. One thing that seems to help me is to view (the front angle especially) in a mirror. or to stand with my left shoulder to the screen and look over my shoulder to keep the right and left straight until I learn the basic moves. It's definitely worth having if you're serious about XCM.
The Effect As a performer, there is nothing better than turning the whole room against a Heckler. It is crucial to force the Heckler off balance as early as possible, so that he is always one step behind every move, and is constantly playing catch-up. When all the sleights are solid, and the moves hit hard and are thrown out quickly like a precision boxing combination, it is impossible for anyone, let alone some sorry Heckler, to get a piece of you. You are playing a game of catch me if you can, and he can't.

The Effect - A card is freely selected and signed, front and back. The signed card is returned to the deck, protruding. With little delay, the deck is held so the spectator can see their card protruding from the deck (Yes, it is their card, they can see their actual card the whole effect). The performer then causes the signed card to VERY visually rise through the deck to the top. A couple endings are possible, both of which involve the signature on the back of the card (hidden by the top card) to visually jump to the top, completing the rising of the card to the top. The card is then handed out for inspection.
Gimmicks - Yes. The gimmick is clever and easy to make. It is also easy to hide in the deck. You may frown because a gimmick is used, but it is worth it. Use this trick as a closer to your ACR. The way I plan on integrating this is to go with my old closer (the pop up bent card) and then show them how it works. Have them sign the front of the card for ACR, and then, for my finale, I would have them sign the back, then do Riot. They would have seen previously a card travel through the deck and pop out at the top, with Riot they can see very specifically how the card rises. The gimmick is not something you can keep in the deck for other tricks, but is small enough to be very easily put into play. Dan also covers a way to get the card out of play very easily. If you use this as an ACR closer, you are set.
Performance - Very visual. There are angles, but if you use the normal method, all you have to worry about is people on one side. The front and the other side are just fine. The effect also involved no seriously difficult sleights. The Gamblers Cop is used, and you will be wrist killing the spectators view of the deck occasionally, but everything else is just setup, no real serious sleights. The setup is kinda knacky (I won't go into any more details for the effect's sake) but it is something you can get used to.
The Teaching - Dan Hauss finally can teach. He isn't great, but he covers what you need to know. He isn't quite as big of a toolbox this time, a little more personality helped (although he is still weird as anything else.) The teaching on the 24 minute T11 1on1 covers everything you really need to know. He does not teach you how to ditch the gimmick for immediate handout of the deck, but you ought to be able to use your own brain for that. The holes that are there are nothing that any non-YouTube magician will be able to figure out (What I am saying is that if you aren't some spoiled 13-year old with a camera who does nothing but reveal (terribly) tricks on youtube or post equally wretched videos of poor magic trying to show off, then you will have the experience needed to fill in the blanks that Dan Hauss leaves, obviously counting on the learner having a little magic background.) There is no real patter suggested here, but once again, if you aren't a toolbox, you can figure something out that will work. How to Download Click the box below :
A spectator freely selects a card from a shuffled deck and is asked to memorize it. Then the magician explains that he actually learned how to perform magic from his grandfather. The magician pulls out his keys and points out to the photo frame key-tag with grandfather's photo sealed inside. On that specific photo, grand-pa carries a playing card FACE-DOWN in his jacket pocket. The magician continues and explains that sometimes he still can communicate with his grandfather through magic. VISUALLY and MAGICALLY the FACE-DOWN card in the photo is now turned FACE-UP only to reveal the 4 of spades -the spectator's selection!!!
Right after the revelation of the card in the photo, the key-tag may be handed out for examination! NO funny moves or whatsoever! "Ghost Tag" is an unique effect and will fool not only lay people, but magicians alike. Simply chain "Ghost Tag" on your keys and you're ALWAYS ready to freak them out!
"Ghost Tag" comes complete with custom handmade key-tag and everything else you'll need to perform this stunning effect.
